Paste the `description` field from SKILL.md, then add realistic prompts. The score rewards concrete domain words, task verbs, and overlap with likely user wording.

How to use the result

A low score on a positive phrase usually means the description is missing user vocabulary. A high score on a near-miss phrase usually means the description is too broad. A weak score on a safety phrase may be fine if the skill should ask for confirmation rather than fully activate.

Use this tester with the Convergent Skills description linter. The linter repairs the description; this page checks whether the repaired description fits the phrases you expect users to write.

FAQ

Is this the same as the Convergent Skills description linter?

No. The linter improves the description text. This tester compares that description against sample user phrases to reveal likely trigger gaps.

Can this guarantee how Claude will choose a skill?

No. It is a transparent heuristic for authoring and evaluation. Always test in the Claude surface where the skill will run.

What phrases should I test?

Use real user wording, adjacent tasks that should not trigger, and risky prompts that should make the skill pause or ask for confirmation.
